My name is Barry Searle and I am a Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, with a background in mental health nursing, specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

Once referred, by your GP or as a self referral, an appointment will be set up and then assessment would take place.
​
This would involve information gathering about the nature, duration and severity of the identified difficulty. The appropriate intervention would then be discussed and agreed, and arrangements made for therapy to begin.

Intervention would be 1:1 in format. Parents are encouraged and welcome to accompany children during each therapy session if they wish

We offer a service that provides assessment and treatment for young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties
You can access our service by either self referral or via your GP.
Our aim is to provide a timely high quality assessment and treatment of mental health difficulties for young people and their families

Who attends?
We are available to all young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties that affect their ability to function in day to day activities

What are “Mental Health Difficulties”? These are conditions like, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive symptoms, peer relationship difficulties, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), behavioural problems, self esteem issues and self confidence to name a few. Sometimes these difficulties are noticeable by persistent feelings of sadness, worry, stress, concentration issues or deliberate self harm.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – commonly known as CBT – is a type of therapy that works by helping you to understand that your thoughts and actions can affect the way you feel.
